How to determine the wear of PDC drill bits?

The following are some ways to determine the degree of wear on a PDC drill:

1. Observe the cutting teeth:

Check the wear of the cutting teeth, such as worn, chipped or missing tips.

2. Measurement:

Use a gauge to measure the height, thickness and other dimensions of the cutting teeth and compare them with the original dimensions.

3. Reduced drilling efficiency:

If the drilling efficiency is significantly reduced, the drill bit may be severely worn.

4. Change in torque and drilling pressure:

An abnormal increase or decrease in torque and drilling pressure may be a sign of bit wear.

5. Change of rock chip shape:

Observe the shape and size of the rock cuttings. Abnormal changes may reflect bit wear.
