How to judge the wear of drill bits

We can usually judge the wear of drill bits through the following aspects:

1. Observe the cutting edge of the drill bit:

If the cutting edge has worn or become dull, or if there are notches or cracks, the cutting effect of the drill bit will be affected and needs to be replaced.

2. Observe the quality of the borehole:

If the drilled hole wall is not smooth or has burrs, or the hole diameter is too large or too small, it may be caused by wear on the drill bit and needs to be replaced.

3. Observe the appearance of the drill bit:

If there are obvious wear marks or discoloration on the surface of the drill bit, or if the drill bit is deformed or bent, it may be due to excessive wear on the drill bit and needs to be replaced.

4. Listen to the sound of the drill bit:

If abnormal noise or vibration is heard while using the drill bit, it may be due to uneven wear or damage of the drill bit, which needs to be replaced.

5. Compare the weight of new and old drill bits:

If the weight of the old drill bit is significantly reduced, it may be due to wear on the drill bit and needs to be replaced.
